Playing “We are Called”.

2016 WW album cover2 (2)This song is all about the, get up and go factor. I started the song off with a delayed clean guitar and quickly bring in some real heavy guitars with big 80s style drums. However, if you don’t have that kind of production for your services, this song can be played equally as well with just a regular rock band or even on just the acoustic guitar. Underneath the driving drum beat and fx driven guitars, the song is acoustic guitar all the way. Be very careful not to rush this song… the instrument tracking seemed slow to me while I was tracking, but once you fit the singers in, you may find that a moderate tempo feels fast to sing.

Liturgical content for “We are Called”.

2016 WW album cover2 (2)Liturgical content… well this song is full of quotes that can be used all year long. Let’s go ahead and get the John 3:17 verse in there right off the bat. That bible verse covers both verses of the song. You can really go through the bible and pick out dozens of bible verses that cover how Jesus died on the cross for our sins and how we are are saved and receive strength from Him. Likewise, there are dozens of bible verses that cover how we are to praise God and celebrate his name. Psalm 33:1-3 is a great example of how are are called to worship God with song. This song is written based directly on bible quotes, and is easy to fit into any liturgical setting.

Singing “We are Called”.

2016 WW album cover2 (2)If you are transitioning out of “Here we Come” you are going to have a real easy transition, they are both in the same key:) Just like “Here we Come”, this melody sits comfortably in the middle register for a male singer. This should place a female singer comfortably on the tonic of the song for a harmony line. We spend most of our time singing the note “B”. So even for congregations who are… not so vocally advanced… this song should be real easy to sing.

“We are Called” in your worship service.

2016 WW album cover2 (2)Did someone say… we need a praise song… Here it is. This song is written for when you need an inspirational song to get people up and out of their seats. This is all about praising God and getting everyone excited to do so (that’s why it’s a praise song…). I would bring this song in early in the service, most likely right after “Here we Come”. It is a song that will get people active and engaged. This song also works well if you are looking to inspire folks for a mission trip, tithing, or other calling for volunteers in your ministry. It is always great to praise God’s name and remind everyone that “We are Called”!
